RESTORATIVE YOGA
Instructor: Sandra Sanford, RYT-500
Date: Sunday, February 12th and 26th, 2012
Time:
1:00-3:00pm
Cost:
$25.00 (reservations a must, class limited to 15)
Known as "the active
practice of relaxation", Restorative is the gentlest of all yoga.... Utilizing props (bolsters, straps, and
blankets) Sandra will guide you through a series of easy postures, each held
for a short period of time so gravity can do its magic and release deeply held
tensions in the body. As the body
relaxes, the mind "chatter" slows down, and with the aid of deep conscious
breathing, "thoughtful" readings, and positive affirmations, shifts into the higher
realms of peace, quiet, and radical acceptance.
The practice is accompanied by soul soothing music, light massage, high
grade essential oils, and yes, chocolate.
Ahhh, bliss.
PARTNER YOGA
Instructors: Colleen Donovan
& Tyler Montieth
Date: Sunday, February 19, 2012
Time: 4:00-6:00pm
Cost: Couple $40/Single $25
Two bodies, minds and spirits come together during this workshop led by the dynamic duo of Tyler and Colleen. Lots of elements will be explored in Partner Yoga: balance, coordination, communication, trust, patience, compassion and a good sense of humor as you move in tandem through a series of asana/postures. Working with another, you can balance better than you could on your own, move into poses more deeply, and hold them longer, which increases strengthening and stretching. No prior yoga experience necessary. Bring your spouse, friend, partner, or come alone and get matched up with another practitioner.
